chose to study. Their goals, however, differed from one to
another because students used different rituals while studying.

Some found that different environments were great
places to study in.
"Panera is a good place to study because of al l the food
provided there," so phomore Erica Caballero said .
Being motivated to study is what helped many students
throughout the year. Th ey often found little things to make
studying seem less time-co nsuming.
'The only way I can study is with a piece of candy in my
mouth," sophomore Jenny Hoefener said.
Not all motivation came from tangible items. Ambition
for grades, higher education, and proud parents were factors
in studies.
Long hours were put into homework and exams
throughout the year. Sacr ifi ces , headaches, and paper cuts
made studying hard, but in the end, the reward was worth it.
