F to prove themselves. Students had to 1mpress colleges,
or many students, high school was a time to excel and
to achieve. It was Important for students to do wel l and
parents and teachers. Achieving goals meant hard work,
dedication, and countless hours dedicated to homework and
studying.
"My goal is to maintain a 4.0 all year. I am always busy
with volleyball, and it's hard to find t1me to do extra studying,
but l really expect myself to do well this year. My grades are
important to me and my parents," junior Sara Schult said.
"My goals for high school are to study hard and find a
career that interests me," sophomore Ashley Scheer said .
. "Every year l was here I tried my best. Now as a senior I
want to do better than a 4.0," senior Mark Schulte said.
"I want to get a 3 .5 GPA this year because grade WISe,
junior year IS very important, and this is the year that colleges
look at," j unior Tim Cook said.
"My goals for th1s year are to stay focused and
concentrate because l want to start off high school on a good
note, and do the best that I can," freshman Jamie Paik said.
Teachers also had expectations and goals for their
students and themselves as well . They expected students to
come to class prepared and ready to learn.
"I expect them to come to class on time, want to learn,
and be prepared to work. My goal as a teacher is to help each
student as much as possible," teacher Amy Diedrichsen said.
"Everyone has to have a goal for themselves; otherwise,
you will not work for anything," j unior Liz Farrow said.
Overall, goals were a major part of high school. Whether
they were short-term or long - term, goals were something
every person had.
