t the end of the year, students made many decisions
about the classes they would be taking in the following
year. With these decisions, there were many
opportun1t1es for them to choose classes that interested them
and which allowed them to express their creativity.
Art foundations, drawing, and pottery were some of the
artistic classes offered to students to participate. "Art
foundations is a very interesting class. We made wire gauze
figures 1n mot1on, and they were really cool," sophomore Laura
Steele said. Along w1th wire gauze figures, art foundation
students also worked with freehand drawing, pottery, and
pa inted self-portraits.
S.enior Terri Rhodes preferred the clothing and fashion
related electives. "Fashion merchandising and interior design
Were awesome. They allowed me to expreSS my indiVIduality in
my work." The fashion merchandising class had many
opportunitieS for students to use their imaginations. As part
of one project, they designed a dress or outfit out of a bla ck
trash bag and made it as unique as their minds could create.
Along with fashion and art classes, students could take
such classes as industrial art classes and creative writing.
Junior Chad Irish preferred more of a hands-on class with
woods. "We get to be creative by designing our projects and
building them with our own hands."
Using a pen and paper was another way students could
express their imaginations. "Creative writing gives students an
opportunity of express their feelings, and Mrs. Kuhn rocks! "senior
Ryan Summers said.
Creativity was an Important part of learning. Students
were not held back to express their own. Creativity was guided
and experienced through many avenues.
