Students excel to the top
hile offering multiple opportunities
W and support, a safe caring and co-
hesive learning environment, chal-
lenging courses, and shared efforts of staff,
students, parents, and community, the school
worked to support and reach its defining aca-
demic mission.
Part of achieving this mission, seniors
had to start many traditions to be carried on
for many years to come. They had to add 15
credits in order to graduate which made room
for extra classes. In addition, the essential
learning outcome (ELO) cut scores were vi-
tal in graduating.
To help students get another feel for
getting into the community, a new sports offi-
ciating class was created. This class provided
coursework and experience in order to better
prepare students for related jobs.
Striving to accomplish the high stan-
dards, students had the highest ACT scores
in the Metro, graduated the first 18 class in
the state, and had 10 finalists for the PSAT
merit award. All of these achievements proved
