                                                                             heard these words throughout their seasons.

                                                                and districts. The girls team won its first Metro championship since
                                                                1985  with a new tournament record  low of 308.
                                                                   "Winning  both  Metros and districts was a major accomplish-
                                                                ment,  and it just hit us  like,  Wow, no one has ever  done this be-
                                                                fore!" Swanson said.
                                                                   More victories were carried out by  the boys tennis team, start-
                                                                ing again with the  first  match.  The  boys  defeated Bellevue  East
                                                                with a perfect match score of 9-0.
                                                                   "We  worked hard at practice,  yet  sometimes they  (practices)
                                                                were really funny because some of the guys on  our team did not
                                                                know how to  jump rope,  and another player practiced  his  cart-
                                                                wheels," sophomore  Robbie Vanderveen said.
                                                                   With  an overall record of  6-3, the varsity boys tennis team had a
                                                                winning  season .
                                                                   "There  was always room for improvement, but I played hard
                                                                and always fought for the win," senior Dan Gage  said.
                                                                   The  junior varsity  tennis team also  worked hard to  achieve a
                                                                winning record  of 7-4.
                                                                   With  the determination and positive  attitudes put forth  during
                                                                the season,  the golf and tennis teams were victorious and ready
                                                                to take on  anyone.
