Levels Vary
' ' playing JV is much
harder than your fresh-
man year. The compe-
tition is much harder at that
level. The players are bigger and
more experienced. At the fresh-
man level you are just starting
out in high school. JV is a higher
level than that," tells Sophomore
John Scott.
The basic purpose of a JV
team is to prepare you for '~he
Varsity team. You have to plt;:~Y
different at different levels.
Some teams will pull down their
Juniors and let them play JV and
they also play in the varsity
games.
"What it is all about is
playing to your capability in
most games. Overall in this
year's program, we were able
to play teams in such a way
they really had to work for it. I
feel we started the program on
the right foot," said Coach Kevin
Riley.
Because they were able to
play a game mentally which is
important. This point prevailed
against Omaha North. North was
a "run and gun" team, very
quick. The JV team was the
total opposite, a very controlled
team and because of menial
play made them play the
Mustang's game.
