now - those wonderful glistening
flakes, huh . That's what everyone
thinks! Dead car batteries, ac-
cidents, icy roads, below zero temper-
atures and frostbite; that's what it's all
about.
Sure, snow can be great if school
is cancelled and there's nothing to do,
build a snowman, have a snowball
fight, or go sledding with friends .
But for the most part students
must leave the comfort of their warm
beds and brave the cold weather just
to get to school everyday. It wouldn't
be so bad if one didn't hove to walk
outside to go from one class to the
next, as it was a common occurrence
during the first semester and part of
the second.
"Being snowed in is great, you
can sleep all day," commented
Sophomore Michelle Finnerty. Where-
..., as ·Freshman Donnie Cameron felt
having to walk outside to class was a
real pain.
According to the Board-of Educa-
tion the main concern during the
winter months was to make sure there
was a safe way for both staff and
students to get to school. If not, a
snow day was used.
In the winter, speed is an important factor when
running back and forth to class.
