etween art and industrial art both
appreciation and chances for com-
petition were prevalent. "It lets me
show my emotions and have something to
show for it all in art," said Senior Elizabeth
Jensen.
For art teacher Marge Schimenti, art
is really "learning a new language because
students must learn to read shapes and
colors."
Industrial arts student Senior Curt
Kuhr said, ''I've been in an industrial arts
class all four years and have received a
scholarship from Kearney State because of
it." Kearney also sponsors a yearly
industrial arts fair.
"I've taken industrial arts class
because I plan on becoming a welder. I have
researched the pay and it looks promis-
ing," said Senior Tom lewis.
Junior Dave Brezack said that the best
thing about all of the art classes was that
students could choose their own projects
such as waterbeds, frames, stereo cabin-
ets, and chairs and sketches or drawings.
Art classes helped Sludents design a
hobby that they were good at, while
industrial arts helped students out with
their future plans.
