"Debate helped me to be able to put my
thoughts together," said Srlinda Hietbrink.
Julie ludwig said "Forensics helped me be
able to get over the fear of speaking in front
of people."
Forensics teacher. Terry Peterson said
"the biggest fear to man is speaking in front
of a lot of people_ and in forensics the
students are helped to over come it."
The forensics team have been to
approximately JO contests. Some students do
more than one event during the contest.
"Being able to compete academically is
great, just because you're not on the football
team doesn't mean that you're not competi-
tive .... and I think the competitive part of
it was what I liked the most," said Heitbrink.
These students learned to express
themselves and be creative. They also work
under pressure and had to get along with
others while learning-their skills for the next
contest.
