When there was nothing to do on a week-
end afternoon, W estroads was the place to go.
One could often see friends out at the mall--
either shopping or working at one of the nu-
merous stores. Clothing stores like Younker's
and The Limited were big draws, as were the
various record stores and card shops. By the
time the weekend rolled around though, the
parking was near-to-impossible. Sometimes it
almost made people turn away, but the prom-
ise of seeing friends and all the good buys in-
side made them change their minds. (P. MA-

shops. Not only were there clothing
stores, but also an ice cream shop, candy

restaurants. The food type and price se-

Cafe. At night, a horse and carriage were
available to offer a diverse mode of trans-
portation. When it was warm out, street
acts like mimes could be found perform-
ing. Also, on weekends the parking was
free--making it even more of an attractive
outing. (P. MAHONEY)
