                                                                                      pated  this  year:   six  freshmen,  four  sophmores,   1
                                                                                      seven  juniors,  and  five  seniors.  There  was  a   f
                                                                                      pre-holiday tournament held  in  December,   1   ,,
                                                                                      and  then  teams  played  every  Sunday thereaf-
                                                                                      ter.   The current league  standings,  as  of Feb I,
                                                                                      were  as  follows :   freshman  who placed  first
                                                                                      were the  Godzukies with  a  4-0  record,
                                                                                      Pyusecht  were  first  in  the  tenth  grade division
                                                                                      with  a 3-1  record,  Scabs, JHW,  and A WB  had
                                                                                      a  3-1  record to  make  it  a  tie  in  the  Junior
                                                                                      division,  and  in  the  Senior division,  Sexual
                                                                                      Chocolates  were  in  first  place  with  a 4-0 rec-
                                                                                      ord.
                                                                                             "Play  was  very  intense  and  extremely
                                                                                      competitive.  The games  did tend  to  get  a  little
                                                                                      physical,  but  whenever they  began  to  get  too
                                                                                      abusive everyone usuallly  begans to  lay  off
                                                                                      and  be  more careful .  I always  had  a gcxxl  time
                                                                                      playing.  The games  were  meant  to  be  fun  and
                                                                                      they  were  just that,"  said  John  Gordon.
                                                                                             'The purpose  was  to  provide  recrea-
                                                                                      tional  activity  for  students  on  Sunday.  There
                                                                                      was  a  lot  of enthusiasm  for  the  games  played
                                                                                      here,"  said  Coach  Ron  Johnette.
                                                                                             "Intramural  Basketball  was  extremely
                                                                                      fun  this  year!  Many  of tbe  teams  had  been
                                                                                      together  for  a  few  years  ,  and  that  gaves  the
                                                                                      league a  little  more competitivness.  Some
                                                                                      teams  had  become  rivals  over the  years!  This
                                                                                      year many  of the  players  "talked  up" the  game
                                                                                      the  week before  to  make  it  more exciting.  The
                                                                                      games were  intense and  incredibly competi-
                                                                                      tive  this  year,  but  once the  game was  over,
                                                                                      either win  or lose,  all  teams showed great
                                                                                      sportmanship.  That's what  made  it  so  fun,"
                                                                                      said  Chris  Gille.
                                                                                             A  post- league  tournament  was  held
                                                                                      in  late  February  to  determine  the  year's  cham-
                                                                                      pions.
                                                                                          "Winning and  losing  was  secondary,"
                                                                                      said  Johnette  about  the  games.
