For many students during the year, their car
was something they wanted to personalize.
Students found many ways in which to do thi s.
The additions to the cars ranged from tassels on
the reaiView mirror to complete custom paint
jobs.
Students such as Senior Jeremy Millen
enjoyed having their favorite stuffed toys in
their windows. 'The animal in my back win-
dow really made me feel safe and at home," he
stated, "and the animal kingdom loved me
because of it."
Other students bought the "Stress Zap-
1 pers" which made three different weapon
sounds . They were meant to lower one's ten-
sion by aiming the toy at someone and pretend-
ing to use the weapon of choice on them.
Senior Sam Shafer said, "I rea!Jy loved play-
ing with the machine gun button. It relieved
my stress when a car pulled in front of me and I
made me feel like I had some power. " Various 1
other trends included Oakley stickers in the
windshield and small yellow warning signs in 1
the back window that had different messages I
. written on them.
Some students even went to the extreme of 1
custom painting their cars such as Junior Shrum
McGovern . His Honda Civic was hand painted I
silver with multicolored wheels. "Since I bought !
the car at a garage sale for $100, I thought I had 1
nothing to lose. Plus it shows my individual- !
ism." I
Throughout the year, many additions were !
made to students cars. Junior Naomi Peters :
summed it up by saying, "It's more fun to drivel

when you have something to play with. " The
caution though was that those distraction s didn't l
lead to accidents.
