hether it was too much homework or studying for a test,
students felt the stress of school . Whether going to an after
school JOb that kept one out late during the week, or staying
after school to practice for the big game that weekend, students
sometimes felt stressed.
"The thing that made me stressed out was too much homework. I
lift weights after school, and then I go home and have so much to do for
school. I'm too tired to do any of it because I get up so early," freshman
Nick DeLuca said.
Homework was not the only thing that stressed out students.
Some had jobs after school and got overwhelmed with all they had to get
done, and the lack of sleep that followed.
ยท"I get stressed out a lot because after school! go to work until
nine or ten o'clock, and then I com~ home and start my homework and
study for tests," senior Jeremy Dalton said.
However, stress was an everyday occurrence for some when they
were out of school.
"Stress is a normal thing in my life because I have so much to do.
After school! go home, go to work, then go out with my friends or to
dinner with my family. I don't get a lot of sleep because I always worry
about personal problems at night," junior Tara Pate said.
Taking a bubble bath or staying home one n1ght dunng the weekend
helped some stay stress free. Some students like JUnior Abby Wynn had
their own methods.
"During finals I always get so stressed out with all the things to
study for in so little time. So, to relax, I usually take a long hot bath or
listen to music," Wynn said.
All year, students found ways to deal with stress. They managed
to go to practice, or work and then went home and got their school work
finished. Stress made it harder for students to do the things they
wanted, but they learned to manage the1r time and deal with their stress.
