Study! Study! Study! Does thi s
sound familiar? Some students said that
they spent extreme amounts of time work-
ing on pile after pile of homework.
Some spent as much as four hours
working on homework, but on the other
hand there were students that spent only
15 minutes studying.
Some students were able to finish
their homework in school like Sophomore
Michael Abel. He said, "I had two study
hall s, so I really didn 't spend a lot of time
outside of school studyin g." Senior Kim-
berly Hales said, "I had no time in school
to work on homework, so I ended up
spending three hours a night working on
it! "
Working together with another
person or with a whole group was another
way of getting the job done. Some stu-
dents said that they accomplished more
when they worked in groups rather than
by themselves . Freshman Hotly Graber
said, "When you worked in a group, you
had more than one mind working on the
same idea which made it easier."
On the other hand, Junior Kevin
Riley said, "If I worked in a group, I
usuall y ended up letting the group do the
work, so if I did it by myself, I knew I'd get
it done."
Another key aspect to studying
was the environment in which the stu-
dents worked in. Most students said that
they worked better in a quiet environ-
ment. Senior Wendy Sorensen sai d, "I
needed it to be quiet because when it was
loud, I became distracted. " Junior Jau-
ron Leefers said, "I needed it loud and
noi sy, or else I space off."
No matter where or when stu-
dents studied, they had to accommodate
themselves in order to accomplish what
they had set out to do.
