Car Uses
Endless
-Destry Pixton-
Cars were used for more than just
driving. They were also for wrecking, hitting
other cars, doing crazy things in, hauling kids,
and using them as an extra locker. The possi-
bilties were endless.
"I once slept in my car," Junior
Michelle Muirhead said . "We videotaped
things for a friend ; you can't see them very well,
but it was fun. We even taped the Burger King ll
drive through," said Senior Gina Mategrano.
"We did a chinese fire driU with 23 people, one I
at a time. It took three green lights," Senior Jon I
David said.
Others took daring chances. Junior
Jason BeaUe said, 'This girl and I switched
outershirts while driving, she liked my shirt
better." "I couldn't see out of my front wirdow
so I drove with my head out of the sun roof, and
my friend did the pedal s. My hair got really
messed up! " said Beth Ryker.
Unfortunately sometimes cars became
"victims" of accidents. The outcome wasn't
always pretty. "I was going to pick up a friend
to go to the winter play. I tried turning into a
street that wasn't there and hit a huge cement
gutter which slit my tire open," said Senior
Sarah McGee. Senior Tris Jacobs also had a
similar experience. "The frrst time I drove a car,
I crashed it." Muimead side-wiped a curb and
wrecked the alignment on 'her car one time.
Sometimes because of these accidents,
cars were never the same. "My car wouldn't
turn right; I had to turn left wherever I went. I
didn 't have heating, airconditioning , windshield
wipers, and the doors didn 't work," said Junior
Renae Caverhill. "My car doors did not open
from the inside so we had to "Daisy Duke" it out
the windows. Plus there was no radio, so we
sang," said Freshman Ashley Pixton.
They were definitely a new form of
entertainment and their uses were endless. Cars
are no longer just for driving.
