Unexpectedly
-Wendi Hansen-
There was no doubt that as the year
wound down that "senioritis" had struck the
halls and classrooms.
The definition of senioritis was so
abstract that not many people could clearly say
what it truly meant. Senior Shelby Wother-
spoon said, "It was an aching feeling down
deep in the joints of all seniors caused by the
feeling that school would never end!"
Senior Kate Koch had another defini -
tion: "Senioritis is the technical term for stress;
it affects seniors approximately five months
before graduation , and causes them to act crazy,
be lazy , and be easily angered
"I think it struck when I didn't want to
do my homework anymore because I found
better thing s to do," said Senior Steve Simpson.
The weather proved this point over and over
again.
"As soon as the temperature got above
40 and the shorts were out, r got senioritis ," said
Wotherspoon. As spring got closer and closer,
it got harder and harder to stay in school.
A senior year tended to be extremely
stressful right down to the end. Senior MicheUe
Browning said, "It was stressful because we
had other things we'd rather be doing than
studying .. .like partying!"
Senior Jeff LaGrone summed it up by
saying, "Senioritis is the father of procrastina-
tion because you do not want to do anything but
have fun."
