The National Honor Society chapter
almost doubled its membership since last year ,
growing from 95 to 118.
The chapter was kept busy with many
activities. Selling pie coupons for Village Inn
was the main fundraiser. It brought in $1700.
The money was used to assist a family at Christ-
mas, provide scholarships for four members,
and purchase pins and for the members. certifi-
cates. Another big activity was the walk to
McDonalds in May where members pushed
Montclair Nursing Home patients in wheel-
chairs.
The chapter was especially concerned
with helping people and working with the
community. Advisor Lee Galloway said, " I
enjoyed working with the students because they
were involved in many school activities, and
they were concerned for others, not just them-
selves."
Induction of new members was held
Apr. 21 and the ceremony was led by President
John Gordon, Vice President Rachel Collier,
Secretary Julie Challender, and Treasurer Randy
Hansen.
How did the officers look upon the
year? "I liked this year a lot better than last year
because there were more people and more ac-
tivities," said Collier.
