Group Shares
Creative Work
-Marci Levine-
As the end of April rolled around,
members of the Literary Magazine gave a sigh
of relief. Throughout the year, these members
gathered works of art, writings and any type of
expression for litera.ry magazine publication.
Going through submitted works was
one of the responsibilities of the members.
"Everybody participated by choosing selec-
tions. That's what maked us a group," said
Senior Tonya Woodmancy.
Every Tuesday the group met in the
library after school. They had to decide what
more needed to be done, whether it was gath-
ering more artwork or laying out the pages.
"We tried to get a sample of the
existing generation," said advisor Jim
Krueger. He also added that he liked how Lit-
erary Magazine was sharing its creative ex-
pressions with the school.
In addition to students turning in
works on their own, some students were ad-
vised by their teachers to submit work. Ad-
vised by her teacher to tum in a daily assign-
ment was Junior Ellie Sue Shpayher. She was
told to tum it into the box in the library and
from then on, it was all history. "I was so
surprised," said Shpayher, "It was only a scary
story!"
By the years' end, the entire school was
able to purchase the creative works of its
student body.
