1thout the support, advice, and encouragement of the entire
staff, students wouldn't have gotten the help needed to survi ve
high school.
"I always try to help them stay 1n school and 1n their classes . If I
know there is a problem, I watch extra close to try to encourage them.
Giving students help and congratulating them on success is what they
need," security guard Diane Wood said.
Guidance counselors supported the students in their daily lives
and helped them direct their future plans .
"We assist them when a student has a personal, academic or
social concern, or when they need assistance With college applications and
scholarships," counselor Jodi Therkelsen said .
. "!love the variety. One minute I'm working on college admissions
with a student; the next I'm working with a student to overcome an

addiction," counselor Bev Johnson said.
The school nurse helped support students by keeping them
educated on the1r health .
"I promote physicCJI, mentCJI CJnd emotionCJI heCJith, for CJII students
and staff. I educate and keep up to date on medical issues, to maintain
health records on all students. I am a resource person for students and
staff on health issues or concerns," nurse Karen Horton said .
The librarians and the med1a center were great resources for
students to gather Information for homework or a project and have a
qu1et place to study. Students could always turn to the library for a
helpful hint about school or technology .
"The media center purchases materials including books, videos and
on-line database to form the basis of information that the students
seek to use for reports, assignments and JUSt for research . VJe help
students find the necessary data and help them put the1r reports 1nto a
vanety of formats Including several types of multi- med1a
presentations," med1a specialist Stephanie Bur die said.
